The Bosca company is a perfect blend of American opportunity, Italian artistry, commitment to quality, and hard work. They source the highest grades of leather and employ artisan techniques to fashion practical and beautiful leathergoods.

Hugo Bosca, an Italian immigrant, started the company in 1911 in Springfield, Ohio. Three generations later, Chris Bosca continues the family tradition of quality leather goods while embracing the company’s digital future.

Through their partnership with IronPlane and the Magento eCommerce platform, Bosca was able to complete their migration in 6 weeks and demonstrate striking outcomes only 5 months after launch.

The Challenge

Bosca’s old site was built on the Magento 1 platform which was soon to be out of support. This was a familiar challenge for the IronPlane team, and after considering several other skilled Magento agencies, Chris selected IronPlane to migrate their digital business to the latest Magento 2 platform.

Bosca wanted to migrate their existing highly customized site to the new Magento platform within 6 weeks. Their goal was to build a captivating digital property offering a uniquely Bosca eCommerce experience with practical improvements in page-load times, visitor-to-purchase conversion rates, and mobile user experience.

The demands of high quality design and development, a tight timeframe, and budget constraints created a substantial challenge for success.

The Solution

IronPlane’s Alpaca theme was designed to overcome exactly this type of challenge. Paired with the team’s collaborative spirit, this foundation enabled a solution that achieved the right balance of cost, functionality, and timing.
