Packaging Price is a leading online source for packaging and shipping supplies, selling everything from steel strapping to corrugated bins to stretch wrap. The company serves a wide range of customers throughout the United States including large eCommerce companies to smaller mom and pop operations.
The Packaging Price team promises quality products at competitive prices with exceptional service. Part of the reason Packaging Price delivers on that promise is its flexible fulfillment strategy. US customers can either ship orders directly or pick them up at Packaging Price fulfillment centers in Atlanta GA, Chicago IL, Dallas TX, or Hazelton PA.
Since 2000, Packaging Price has been rewarding customers – not only with great prices and service but with their generous loyalty program, allowing their customers to continue reaping the benefits of their purchases.

Packaging Price already had a Magento site, but struggled with poorly configured APIs and intricate site architecture. They were frustrated because it seemed every time they updated one part of their site, another area of the site was negatively impacted.
On top of that, the previous website shopping experience was not intuitive, leading to customer confusion when adding items to the shopping cart, choosing shipping options, and checking out. Customers weren’t sure how to qualify for free shipping or how to opt for local pickup, and there was a lack of communication post-sale.
The limited integration with Packaging Price’s fulfillment partner also made it difficult to notify customers that an order was delayed or back-ordered.
To top it all off, Packaging Price also wanted increased site functionality, including intelligent search, product recommendations, and more.
The Packaging Price team knew they had to improve site usability and features, streamline communication with their customers during the order life cycle, and implement higher quality code underpinning their website. After searching for the right agency to handle all of these areas, they selected IronPlane as their partner.
We conducted a comprehensive discovery to understand the complex nature of Packaging Price’s business model, fulfillment center process, and complicated integrations. From there, we completed an audit of the existing code to identify areas of improvement. Working closely with the client, our project manager designed a comprehensive plan to tackle these redesigns and enhancements in an efficient and structured manner that allowed Packaging Price to continue full operations while the site enhancements were being developed.
