While in Russia in 1999 Robert met some amazing artists creating handmade chess sets. To help sell these, he created his first eCommerce website. When orders began to come in from around the world, he realized this was a great opportunity to explore.
Between 1999 and 2012 he built and developed several eCommerce and digital service companies. In 2012, he co-founded IronPlane, a full-service Magento website development agency. Robert works with clients to find the right investment balance in technology to help maximize return on investment.
When not working, he is generally in his shop making furniture or off traveling with his family.
Project Administrator
Donna joined IronPlane in May 2017. She drafts client contracts, assists with onboarding, and handles client invoicing, time reporting, and much more along with a wide variety of operational responsibilities.
Donna’s passion in life is anything bagpipes. She’s been a piper and piping teacher for over 30 years. She’s from Connecticut and has lived in Maine and Niagara Falls, Ontario, but finally had enough of the cold and now lives in Florida.

As IronPlane's Director of Engagement, Tim wears several hats including sales, marketing, partnerships, and client success. With a background as a B2C eCommerce director, he's had hands-on experience working in business strategy, digital marketing, and business technology stack design. In his current role, Tim helps ensure a seamless connection from our sales and marketing efforts to our service delivery to our ongoing client support.
In addition to a passion for technology, Tim maintains an abiding love of both specialty food and the non-AI process of writing and editing.

Director of Projects
Shawn was introduced to Magento in 2017 while working as a Digital Account Strategist when her agency partnered with IronPlane on a custom Magento build. Working with the guidance and support of the massively talented IronPlane team was the inspiration that eventually led her to choose eCommerce and Magento Project Management as her primary focus, and she joined the IronPlane team for good in 2021.
Since then, Shawn has worked on new store builds, UX/UI design, Magento upgrades, and custom feature development and integrations. She's probably best known amongst her colleagues for her ... very thorough ... style of documentation. Her motto is: "Why say it with 2 words when I can use 200?"
When she's not writing project notes, you can find her at the beach, in the woods, or on a mountain somewhere around Freeport, Maine, where she lives with her husband and dog, NaNook.

Alena’s IT career started in March 2018 as a Business Analyst in an Australian IT company (eWave). During her more than 3 years with the company, she was able to participate in more than 10 e-commerce projects, which mostly were based on Magento 2 platform, and worked with clients from Australia, USA, and Europe. Some of the projects were connected to such brands as Vans, Timberland, L'oreal, DHC, Dr. Martens, and so on.
Then, Alena started to work with SoftLoft, where she had projects in not only the Magento platform, but also in BigCommerce, mobile development (social network), and received a lot of experience in pre-sale work. Currently, she also works as a Business Analysis trainer in one of the IT courses.
Alena’s hobby is aviation! She’s a civil private pilot of a small sport aircraft. :)

Diego had been working in IT roles for more than 15 years when he joined IronPlane, including five years in eCommerce. He enjoys working in multi-culture, multi-timezone projects, allowing him to be in contact with people around the world.
During weekends you will find him making "asados" for family and friends, and participating in outdoor activities. He says he’s also a bad (but a very passionate!) basketball player.

Eugene had 10+ years of experience in managerial positions before joining IronPlane and worked in non-IT companies like ABI (beverage company), where he had a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt project. After that, he changed his focus to IT since it was a much more flexible environment with more room for personal growth, and he likes it very much.
Eugene enjoys snowboarding, bicycle riding, and many other active sports (he played on the basketball team in high school).

Federico has been coding software since 2003 using various technologies and platforms. Since 2014, he's been working almost exclusively in the Magento space. He earned his Magento Associate Developer Certification in 2019 and has collaborated with the community as much as possible, including making contributions to the Magento core and organizing Mugar meetups (https://www.mugar.io).
Federico is interested in developing engaging eCommerce solutions that deliver great value to customers and users. He's always looking for ways to improve development processes and techniques to deliver high quality software.

Gabriel had been working with E-commerce for 7 years when he joined IronPlane. During that time, he had the opportunity to work with small and large projects in several different segments, in industry and commerce, adding value and freeing clients from the tangle of business rules.
In his free time, Gabriel likes to explore the beautiful landscapes of Brazil, and play harmonica and guitar.
Senior Magento Backend Developer
Since building an ERP from scratch for his internship almost a decade ago, Ivan has spent his whole career dedicated solely to e-commerce using the Magento platform, starting from the 1.8 version.
On this journey, he has worked with more than 50 projects of all kinds, from B2C solutions to video subscription platforms and even B2B marketplaces. He also had the opportunity to know some businesses personally on some travels to meet clients, which gave him some interesting insights that he uses to better focus his technical work. Last but not least, he also learned the value of having good communication for remote working and the power of automation for common tasks to improve the team efficiency as much as possible.
Currently, Ivan is part of a Brazilian Magento community called Discorgento, which has everything Magento related from open-source modules to make daily work easier to a podcast interviewing former coworkers in the area.
During his free time, Ivan loves to spend time with friends and family, and enjoys all sorts of retrogaming as a hobby.

At IronPlane, he works as a Marketing & Communications Manager, creating sophisticated and insightful content designed to inform readers. Minh Ly has worked as a QA Engineer since 2014 and has worked through a variety of projects and platforms. He began his journey in a mobile game company where he worked for over 2 years. Then, he pursued a career in software testing and has been working in that field ever since. He has tested everything from mobile to desktop web and desktop application on several different domains from IOT to Wealth Management to Ecommerce and recently in AI technology.
Aside from work, Minh Ly spends his time with his kid and reading books.

Roman is a developer with 10+ years of experience in eCommerce and web development in PHP and JS. He started his career in 2008 on the osCommerce platform, and since 2010 he's been working with Magento projects.
Roman has also worked with other PHP frameworks, including Zend, Symfony, and Yii, and with JS frameworks/libraries like jQuery, Prototype, Knockout, Underscore.js, and RequireJS. He also had non-commercial experience with Python in his pet projects.
