Given the scale of Tacony's operation, their online presence includes sites that offer products to both their retail partners and their end user community. Tacony’s B2C business already had working eCommerce sites built on Adobe Commerce Cloud.

But Tacony was behind on their Adobe Commerce updates and had trouble making even small adjustments to their site. With one Adobe Commerce instance serving three different B2C brands, with shared themes, extensions, code, and integrations, they lacked their desired designs and their hoped-for operational efficiencies.

Additionally, these sites each used different inventory management systems, payment processors, and ERPs. With such complexity, Tacony’s existing agency was unable to efficiently manage the design and technical aspects of the sites.

Tacony needed a partner experienced with such complexity and capable of professional, accurate, and timely communication in delivering quality work.

The Solution

Tacony engaged with IronPlane because of their expertise with Magento and Adobe Commerce. They selected smaller projects at first and tested the waters to make sure they had the right team for the work ahead. Over time, IronPlane has demonstrated their ability to be a true partner to the Tacony business with particularly strong skills in UX design, development, and project management.

Since the contract began, IronPlane has completed a number of support and maintenance projects in an effort to prepare for the next Adobe Commerce update, including stabilizing Tacony integrations, and enhancing the look and feel of the three B2C sites on the single Adobe Commerce instance.

Specifically, these projects involved:

  • Conducting a comprehensive UX/UI discovery
  • Completing a thorough business discovery and code audit to identify functional requirements, current site issues as well as opportunities for optimization
  • Leading the upgrade process of their existing Magento instance for efficient long-term support
  • Working closely with Adobe Professional Services and the Adobe Commerce Cloud team to ensure cooperation and effective project management
  • Redesigning three B2C sites for optimized performance
  • Making improvements to custom Epicor, Quivers, and BazaarVoice integrations
